Independent Students

The College welcomes students who are not ordinands but who wish to study either full-time or part-time for theological qualifications offered by the University of Oxford and for the Common Awards validated by the University of Durham.

The College welcomes applications from both Home and International students for undergraduate and graduate Oxford University qualifications in Theology.  Candidates must be ministers of religion, genuine candidates for ministry, or exercising lay ministry.

Candidates for the University of Oxford’s BA in Theology and Religion and the BA in Philosophy and Theology must qualify for Senior Status and apply as stated here.

Candidates for the Oxford Postgraduate Diploma in Theology and Religion, the Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Theology, the Master of Theology in Applied Theology, the Master of Studies in Theology, the Master of Studies in Philosophical Theology, the Master of Philosophy in Theology, the Master of Philosophy in Philosophical Theology, and the Doctor of Philosophy in Theology and Religion should apply as stated here.

The College particularly welcomes applications for the MTh degree, which can be used as a validated route for ordination training for International students.

The College offers for Home students the full range of Common Award qualifications validated by the University of Durham: Foundation Award, Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Certificate & Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate & Diploma and Master of Arts in Theology, Ministry and Mission, and the Postgraduate Certificate & Diploma and Master of Arts in Worship and Liturgical Studies.
